As you guys know I moved to Greenville SC recently. I found a very cool radio station. WNCW 88.7. Its truly a progressive music station. They play country, Bluegrass, local, Blues, Soul, R&B, James Brown, Robert Johnson,The Grateful Dead, Bessie Smith, And no top 40. You can even submit your own CD and they might play it. You can stream the station at 128 or 28 kbs.

I listened to them some when I was passing through on my beach trip. Cool station, all right!

Seems to me that all the best stations are located on the lower end of the FM dial. My local favs are at 90.7 and 92.9, depending on where in the area I am at the time.

Willie Nelson bought a radio station in Dallas about a year ago and it has been playing GREAT music ever since. It's called Lonestar 92.5 and you can listen to it online at http://www.lonestar925.com/pages/main/ and click on either "Listen" or "HD Radio". I've been hearing things I haven't heard in YEARS!! They cover the gamut from Zappa to The Grateful Dead to Little Feat and over to Merle Haggard and all those guys to Alison Krause and Ralph Stanley to Bob Marley! I LOVE this station!!! It's not the same old thing you hear on every other radio station in the country! It kind of reminds me of the old days of underground radio (for those of you old enough to remember underground!).

I've relied on the underground movement my entire life. I gave up on FM radio stations long ago. Here in Jersey, one station used to have a great format but had eventually moved to typical programing. I now listen to internet radio exclusively.

Mostly listen to the jam station. Great stuff.
