No the selling of them doesn't matter.

I think you would've been in BIG trouble with those four Strats in a row (according to the law), BUT the L5 (especially hand made with those pickups) is what'll save you.

I think you get up to 31 more Strats, depending on how many you sold for the Ibanez. If you 'spent' them, you can refill your allotment ;)

Hey, about what you were talking about a while ago....
Everyone seems to get a strat first - then a tele....

We should use this as a controlled case study and talk bigdaddy into getting a tele first.
You know, just to see what'd happen.... to the universe and all I mean.

I don't know much about those two guitars but, the Strat is higher ranked in everything by reviews than the epiphone in musiciansfriend.com =x
I'd choose the strat 8)

But I already have two guitars and I don't have a strat =x Is my life as a guitarist doomed to fail?

That part of the Law seems to be a corrupted file. It goes off into weird characters and shapes, but just before that, there was something about Telecasters being some sort of nexus, where all laws get thrown out the window.

That's scary territory for sure. There were a couple of actual words left, like destruction...known universe (funny you should mention universal aspects), then ...galactic tonality...Explorer, and then reference to that site that has the sound of the planets. I found that site awhile ago

http://soi.stanford.edu/results/sounds.html

A Tele seems to be (I gather) a wildcard in the equation.

One could risk it I suppose, especially with a set of .009s where you bend the high E string all the way over to where the A string is.

Tele as a second guitar huh? Or even a first?

I'd try it myself but it's already too late ;)

I think buying a tele before buying a strat might be a little like crossing the streams in Ghostbusters.

Dr. Egon Spengler: Don't cross the streams.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Why?
Dr. Egon Spengler: It would be bad.
Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, "bad?"
Dr. Egon Spengler: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Dr Ray Stantz: Total protonic reversal.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.

:D

Speaking of Firebirds:

Susan Storm: You were at 4,000 degrees Kelvin! You were approaching supernova!

Johnny Storm: Sweet!

Susan Storm: No, not "sweet"! That's the heat of the sun!

Reed Richards: You could kill yourself, other people, and burn up the atmosphere, ending all human life as we know it.

Johnny Storm: Got it. Supernova bad.

Still maybe a Strat. People think the cutouts and contours are for player comfort. What they don't tell you is that the shape is actually to allow the guitar to slide through dimensions undetected. You could play classic rock with a Strat in any pub/bar in the universe and the aliens in the audience would go "Sweet...it's a Strat...."

Of course you'd be the actual alien, but that's another story. ;)

A Firebird would get you definitely in the door though, and it's another safe contour. Explorer maybe more 70s?

I'm just thinking that you've already got a 2 humbucker type guitar and getting one with HSS config might be a lot more versatile. I'd personally go with a SSS config, but replacing the pickups with Duncan Hot Stacks or something similar.

Supernova - baaad!

That's crazy because I just watched the first Fantastic Four last night. Anywho, thanks for all of the input and opinions. the alien analogy was espcially interesting. 8) I'll let you know when I have my new axe.
