At first I was going to get an Acoustic Electric guitar , but now I have decided on the standard Fender Stratcoaster. Is there a difference between Maple and Rosewood for the neck? I would like to play rock , but does that matter in picking a neck?
There's a slight difference in feel between them, the maple neck will feel a little "faster."
It is also produces marginally brighter sound (though if anyone could actually tell the difference just by listening, they'd impress the heck out of me!)
Mostly it's about preference and what look you like.
Personally, I think strats just look best with the maple. But that's me.
Choose it for the looks you like best.
