I bought two. They handle a "muff" style distortion very nicely with my two 1 x 12 cabs. I just need to get a decent 4x12 to try one of these babies thru. any suggestions on a 4x12 for this head. I'm thinking Fender FM412, Crate G412, or Marshall MG412. All these three under $300.

I thought that Triggerman would look good w/ the VJ head, but will that head really do something to a cab rated at 280 watts?

I just posted that question in the "Amp forum". I'm thinking that you could run one amp into each channel ( Its a stereo cab). Maybe some of the experts can shine some light here

Like I said on the other forum, it'll drive it fine. Contrary to what you might first think, high power rated speakers are often louder with a small amp driving them than lower power rated speakers with the same amp. Look at the speaker's sensitivity rating. That's how many dB are picked up by a calibrated microphone 1 meter in front of the speaker baffle, on the centerline, with a 1W 400 Hz signal fed to the speaker. The sensitivity's typically higher with higher power speakers. Bigger magnets and voice coils do that. But sensitivity varies extremely widely between speakers of the same size and power rating, so you have to look at each speaker's specs.

Tell ya, the thought that you can get a tube amp for that sort of money is incredible. Where do I sign?

Best,

Are they still not selling them in the UK?

They can be bought in the UK. I've seen them advertised at £109 which considering the exchange rate at the moment doesn't make them quite the bargain they are over the pond.

Ah! The joys of living in "Rip-off" Britain.

It was them that turned me to drink.
