G'day all,
I have been bitten by the "playing along with cd) bug.
I downloaded and tried Guitar Pro 5 which is great and I love the features that you can delete instruments on the song, I have tried numerous songs where I have just left the bass and drums in the track it make playing along really good and great for timing...But alas you can't save them as it is a trial version, think I am going to buy this one...
I also looked around e-bay for Karaoke cds most of them have the phrase "in the style of (add artist here)" .
So the point of my post is, what make selling Karaoke cd's any different than tabs? Does this disclaimer make it ok? Do they pay the artist a commission ( which would be small as the price of a lot of these cd's are under $10.00) ?
So what gives?
Keith

I know a little bit about a lot of things, but not a lot about anything...
Looking for people to jam with in Sydney Oz.......

Given the mis-spellings, or completely wrong lyrics I have seen in some Karaoke disks, I'd guess they are being produced "under the radar" in countries where English is not the dominant language.

Or maybe in those countries there are far different copyright and licensing rules.

Just a guess.
