Has anybody heard this guy? Matisyahu Miller? He's been getting some airtime where I live. I was kind of surprised to hear something so religious on the rock station. He performs Hasidic (a form of orthodox Judaism) Reggae. I know that sounds lame, but he's really talented. He's the one with the song that has the line, "Giving myself to you now from the essence of my being, and I sing to my God songs of love and healing." It always stood out to me.

Paul,

Actually I heard a segment on NPR about him.

Did a quick google and found this video.

Reggae has always been a spiritual music anyways

He's been pretty big among the jewish community for some time now, but for whatever reason he recently got really big. He's on MTV and mainstream radio and getting requested. His sound has a bit of a Euro-pop quality. And you're right, he is very talented, but it seems that he's more of a novelty act and may not have any real staying power.

I pity the fool, but also suggest ways he might better himself.
