Hi Guys,

This may be old news but my son just pointed me in the direction of http://www.pandora.com .
It gives you your own virtual radio station.Just type in a one or two of your favourite artists or songs and it plays you similar tunes or artists. Its really cool.

If you do give it go, let us know what you think

cheers

bob.

I like Pandora also. I have discovered a few artists I had not heard before.

Yep - you pointed me in that direction when I was looking for an on-line blues station.

I hadn't heard of pandora.com until yesterday. I'm pretty sure I read on a news website about it. I think they may be stopping streaming outside of the US. Typical I can't find the article now. I'll have a dig around and see if I can find the link.

Found it.

Looks like the UK could be OK but everywhere else could miss out.

Just checking the radio station out now. Looks pretty good so far.

Unfortunately I live in Canada.... so I'll listen to this thing as much as I can before they shut it down for us.

Thanks so much for the link, this radio is awesome!!!

Edit: I just put some random US zip code and it works

Well. They are tossing us not-americans out of there now.

Which sucks, cause it's a great website

If like me you never know what to put on your mp3 player ,the next time you go out for a few hours start up your Pandora Station, open audacity and select "wave out mix" as your input then hit the record button.
When you get home convert it to mp3 you will have a few hours of new music to put on your mp3 player!

Cheers

Bob.

This is also useful if you want to record something off the radio!

Cool tip Bobblehat.

Only recommended for large hard disks though I should imagine.

Yeh,
Dont forget to delete after converting to mp3 as your hard drive will fill up pretty quickly as it will save it as a wav. file

As I said in my post, putting some random zip code will let you use the player, even if you don't live in the US.

When registering just put in a random zip code.

I just googled U.S. zip codes and picked one from a zip code finder site.

No doubt someone in New York is now receiving junk mail with my name on it!
