An old time jazz pianist buddy of mine in Portland sent me this link to some of the most incredible flatpicked jazz guitar I've ever heard...it was in response to some material I'd sent him, bragging of the speed of of Clarence White and Tony Rice...I have to admit...after listening to all the greats of bluegrass, the greats of blues, and the greats of classical.....I've never quite heard anything like the way Stochelo Rosenberg and Bireli Lagrene can play the guitar...enjoy....!

I wish I will eventually get up to 5% of their skill level.

I just love Gypsy Jazz guitar, can't play it... but love it.

The man who popularised it

And another proponent

I'm more a fan of rhythm and would love to be one of the guys just driving the beat along rather than the blistering solos.

Regards,
Paul

Another to add to the stew. This guy gets a lot of flack because he SHREDS! I personally think it's a bias based on ignorance. The man is very very good and just happens to play fast as well.

haha, heyooo.

They're all awesome though. But I've watched that last one, Joscho Stephan, that video, maybe 10 times in the last hour. Incredible.

Django lost the use of the other two fingers in a fire when he was young.
