Hey all! I've been playing about a year, done a lot of lurking around these forums, learned a L-O-T!! Thanks to everyone! I've got a dilemma here I hope y'all can help me with. What I have here in front of me is a Rickenbacker 330 Jetglo AND a 60th Anniversary American Strat--the 'limited edition of 150' white blonde one that Sam Ash sells. Both of em are great! Problem is I can only keep one. I know I need to go with the one that works best for me...but I hope some of you can give me some advice. I'm 35 years old and I'm not into serious thrashing. Hershel Yatovitz (Chris Isaak's guitarist--and Chris himself) is my main inspiration. I'd like to learn to play some blues as well. My amp is a Vox AD100VT.

OK, the question: which do you guys suggest I keep? The Ric is 300 bucks less than the Strat. ($999 vs $1299)

Living is easy with eyes closed--misunderstanding all you see.

I agree with twistedlefty, the strat is much more versatile.

I had a Ric 330 back in 1971, It was the sweetest axe I have ever had, I still kick my own ass on a regular basis for getting rid of it ( I was young and as dumb as a box of rocks). Its actually pretty versatile although many think of early Beatles stuff, Its great for blues and hard rock and just about any other kind of music. That sounds like great deal on the Ric. Don't get me wrong, I have a stratocaster, its a great axe too but I would consider the Ric 8) --the dog

If you can get a Ric 330 6 string, grab it quick.
Ric's are going up, up, up in value. I got
my Ric 360-12, jetglo, last winter used for $1200 U.S.
from a chap in Ohio. They are selling for $2000+ new
here north of the border.

The real question, Sarge, is which one do YOU like? Both are great guitars. Now it is just a matter of personal choice. There is no "right" one. I would pick the Strat - lots of great tone, comfortable to play, and looks great.
