Just curious, has anyone owned or played a Stagg guitar? The music shop where I take lessons has them in both strat and tele versions. They are around $100, and since I'm a student, I would get 15% off. Not really a case of GAS, but intrigued I guess.

I had a stagg classical guitar. No problems. But when I went to try out an electric guitar, I did not like the stagg strat or lp.

Also my brother has a stagg bass. He likes it.

Music-Go-Round sells them in my area.

I thought they looked pretty good for the price.

I purchased an inexpensive Stagg Acoustic Electric for less than $200 with a gig bag and think it is really nice for the money.

I don't think with your discount and all you could go wrong. 8)

Thanks for the replies, Triple C and Bish. I think I'm going to try one today. I usually get to the store a half-hour or so before my lesson. I'll let you know what I think.

I went back over to MGR today and took a better look at them.

They really look well made and worth what they are asking for them. Kinda like another Rondo/Agile arrangement. I didn't plug one in cuz I had my credit card with me.

I've played some Stagg acoustics at the store and thought they had good sound and string set ups. I don't recall the model numbers

Bish, What does a "Rondo/Agile arrangement" refer to?

I didn't try them because the price went up to $150. Even with my discount, it's not much more to get a Squier Tele. I have some GC gift cards from Father's day that are burning a hole in my wallet, so I may go this weekend and try them.

Quite a few people here on GN own Agile guitars (distributed through Rondo) and really like them. They are very inexpensive but look like a million dollars. Or a couple hundred anyway. I was referring to Stagg being a similar situation. Inexpensive guitars with great value.
