HI Guys,
Thinking about finally getting a strat, but a little unsure about which to get.I am currently looking at the MIM Deluxe Roadhouse or the MIM Deluxe Player .

Was wondering if anybody here has one of these or knows somebody who does.Have read plenty of reviews online and both and they seem to be reasonably good for the money.
Unfortunately here in the UK the American models are a little out of my price range.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers
Bob.

how about more information on those guitars. a picture does not give the full picture.
what kind of pickups do each have? noiseless? ceramic? alnico? MIM's are not bad. cosmetically those guitars look similar, but the best part of a strat is inside.
also, with MIM's it is best to try them out. do you plan on buying them in a store or on line?

+1

There are very big differences between MIM's. I played several guitars when I bought mine and practically I didn't find you equal guitars. If you could do it, try them out.

And consider the reviews just as a opinion from somebody that bought that guitar: usually everybody loves the gear that buys.

what kind of music do you play?

I actually have a Roadhouse Strat now... (after switching through about 3 guitars trading, returning, selling) It has a bluesy, twangy, even country, SRV tone to sit. I don't like the bridge pickup very much by itself - but it's good with the middle.

I've used the deluxe players once when in a store looking - it has more of a typical strat SSS sound. I'm not a fan of gold hardware - so I didn't even consider it. The boost button is kinda cool and it plays well for a MIM.

I would say if you're not into blues, country, or even classic rock, not to look at teh Roadhouse...but if you are... it's awesome (for a MIM)

and as others said - I looked at a couple of them and they did play differently.

Thanks guys,

the roadhouse has the Tex mex pickups and the player has fender "noiseless" pickups.
In my current band I play bluesy/classic rock type stuff from the 60's to now .Thats why I am looking at the Roadhouse.I already have several humbucker guitars (les paul,SG etc) so dont want a HSS strat.I am a little concerned that the roadhouse maybe a bit of one trick pony and wont give me any typical warmer strat tones though.

cheers

bob.
