hey. i'm 15, i'm in a blues-rock band and i'm starting having gigs. i urgently need to get a (good) amp.
im going to get an used amp. those are the options, help me choosing the best:
- Marshall Valvestate VS230 with footswitch included - 250€
- Vox VT30 with VOX VFS5 footswitch included - 250€
- Vox AD50VT without footswitch - 195€
PS: i always use microphones in the amps in the gigs
I use Marshall, so I'd happily recommend that one, but VOX make absolutely top quality kit and I believe there is an instant "AC30" setting on both of those which I would use for everything if I had one.
Go for the amp with the biggest output - it's reasonably future-proof in that you can do some bigger gigs without buying another bigger amp.

For live work, and always miked, I'd go the VT 30 if those are your only choices.
I personally prefer low wattage tube amps
Playing guitar and never playing for others is like studying medicine and never working in a clinic.
There is no single best amp - you need a wall of Vox AC30 twins. :D
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
