I always figured it stood for something along the lines of Guitar Addiction Shopping and meant uncontrollable urges to buy guitar gear.

Its a deadly disease and Mikespe carries the infective tissues that causes it.It spreads very easily and can take a form of epidemic sometimes.
G.A.S. It certainly is a terrible affliction.
The first symtoms are "denial",

This is quickly followed by "acceptance".
The final stages are plummeting bank balances, followed by the sufferer doing John Lennon impressions singing:

I've actually heard that the syndrome has been re-named MAD (Mikespe Aquisition Disease). Stay away from Mikespe at all costs...
