When singing, I find it a lot easier to ascend than to descend. Why? How can I practice to overcome this? Thanks.
I don't know why, but it is more common to go flat on the way down. Is that what is happening to you?
Singing scales and doing other voice exercises will help. When I have a song that is difficult to sing I sometimes use an electronic tuner and sing with no accompaniment. That helps me to practice those jazz songs properly without relying on the keyboard or guitar to keep me on pitch.

I'm having problems going up and down. I always get the same advice: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Eventually you will get it!
Probably because you are pushing to go higher and relaxing to go lower. Try to approach each note as an individual note and not part of a scale.
Notes are like the rungs on a ladder.
Stepping in between the rungs doesn't work too well . . .
but it lets you know where the rungs aren't.
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
