Hey guys,

This is the first time I actually recorded myself singing. Personally, I think I sound off pitch and near the end.

Overall, I think I'm a pretty bad singer and have a lot to improve on.

I'm 16 and I plan on taking singing lessons really soon.

Is there any way we could listen without downloading?

So, I haven't heard it yet. :?

I'm not ignorant, just know nothing. :D

Ummm... I was waiting for someone else to comment?

You can sing man, you have it in your voice, and the confidence is there, but this isn't the tune.

Actually, I don't find (IMHO) that this is a song or a melody at all since the different notes or steps just aren't spaced right.

As a result, you are sort of chanting or musing which isn't bad, but it might not be true indication of your singing ability. 8)

I'm not familiar with this song, so don't know how it's supposed to sound. I won't say that you can't learn to sing, but it would take a lot of work. The sense of pitch just isn't there. Most of the notes are not quite right, which I think is what Blue Jay was saying. You just don't stay in tune at all. It can be learned, I'm told. Your voice is fine. If you really want to sing, I suggest some lessons.

I agree with Hobson, and will explain after this:

I have found the song and it is good! "Listen to Me" on this site http://yellowcardrock.com/ Now, one reason that it is good is because the singers are in pitch, and the vocals harmonize, plus they are wonderfully multi-layered, and the music's cool.

So Keirt buddy... I think you can do this with music, the same way that you play the piano. Find the pitch & play your voice as you would any instrument. You will definitely progress and have everything to gain from singing lessons. All right man!

Okay thanks guys :) I'm definitely starting singing lessons ASAP. I just wanted to see where I am to begin with. So hopefully after a month of lessons, I'll post an updated version :)

read up on how to breathe when singing. it sounds like your voice is in your throat. your should hold the air in your belly.

for pitch you have a guitar. try to match your voice to your guitar notes.

Nothing wrong with it. Everybody sings.

I'm thinking of starting this summer!

Sorry for the late reply guys! I've taken guitar more seriously and started up lessons again! Focusing specifically on fingerstyle now :)

Glad to hear that you're sticking with music. No reason why you can't be a good guitarist. Lots of musicians don't sing well.

The sample is no longer?

Anyway, I hear there's no such thing as "impossible to sing" from a lot of people. Just like anything it requires time and practice. If it was easy, everyone would be a rock star :D Myself included :D
