Object Writing

The book on lyric writing I am reading tells you to do object writing in the morning every day. It might be interesting to have another weekly assignment that has topics to write about for each day of the week. They could tie in with the assignment for the next weeks song even.

I think it helped me a great deal this week to do object writing on the topic before trying to come up with the song. Even though my song had nothing to do with the storms I relived in my object writing a lot of the imagery and sense observations I came up with resulted from that exercize; it was very visible in my mind as I wrote.

Or maybe I am just excited because I feel I broke ground today...:p
