SSG10-Week5 How Do You Feel (In My Arms)

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11256795

I know how it feels to be your best friend
It's a romance killer, it's a dead end

Cuz, I know everything about you, still I want to know
How do you feel in my arms?

I know how new shoes make you feel great
I know how you feel when lose weight

Cuz, I know everything about you, still I want to know
How do you feel in my arms?

I know how you feel when it's pay day
I know why you won't go on a blind date

Cuz, I know everything about you, still I want to know
How do you feel in my arms?
How do you feel in my arms?
How do you feel in my arms?

James,

Very Nice!

I'm not able to place a specific artist but in some ways it does sound familiar.

Enjoyable Listen

I'll leave the song and artist name off the post for now, but here is the link for the answer

Can't say I ever heard of that artist before but it's always nice
to find someone new to listen to.

Good job on capturing the style.

Really enjoyed that one James. :D I liked the idea behind it a lot, and the uncluttered way that you did it appealed as well. You could easily have written any amount of additional lines, but sometimes it works best to keep things clean and simple. I didn't know the artist either, but I did like your take on her style.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks for the listen and post, Chris :D

Yes, I think I would have easily added another 60-90 seconds to the song if I was "doing my own thing" with this one....but that was the point of the assignment....step into another songwriter's shoes and walk around a bit.

I thought the biggest challenge would be to come up with music that was different enough, but I read some tips a couple weeks ago about writing jingles when the client says the want a song that sounds like so and so......try to go for the emotional aspects/landscapes of the song rather than focusing on the melody line and chord progression.

Production-wise I tried to follow as close as possible....even the hand claps LOL :P

This assignment was definitely a challenge, but well worth doing  ....so thanks to Nick.

James
