H'llo there. This is my first time writing for the Sunday Songwriters Group, and likely not the last.

The song that I'm reworking is heavily inspired by Greek mythology, as well as the book series Daughters of the Moon.

---

Old version:

Goddess of the Night

Crying on the streets
Alone and scared
I wasn't like this once
She was with me
And I tell the moon above

She was a goddess of the night
Then she disappeared into the night
Can you tell me where she came from
And tell me where did she go

Nights pass me by
Day's the time to hide
Know I'm searching for something
But what, I'm not so sure
And I won't be till she hears me
So I'll keep telling the moon

She was a goddess of the night
Then she disappeared into the night
Can you tell me where she came from
And tell me where did she go

She was a goddess of the night
Then she disappeared into the night
Can you tell me where she came from
And tell me where did she go

---

New version (Goddess' point of view):

Goddess of the Night

I see you crying
You're alone and scared
You weren't like this before
When I was yours
I hear you tell the moon

That I was a goddess of the night
Then I disappeared into the night
You're asking where I came from
You want to know where did I go

I watch nights pass you by
During days you hide
I see you searching for something
But what, I don't think you know
So it pains me but I hear you
As you're crying, telling the moon

That I was a goddess of the night
Then I disappeared into the night
You're asking where I came from
You want to know where did I go

Oh, I am a goddess of the night
And I'm invisible, part of the night
You can never learn where I came from
Can't learn that I'll never go

---

Thanks for your time!
-Alex
