Thriving the Monsters connive what is real---- I have had those words in my mind and thought I should use them for this assignment, just an idea.

(Verse 1)
Thriving the monsters connive what is real,
confusing the words of men, make us feel.
Controlling the path that is slipping away.
Abusing their power, WE ASK THEM TO STAY!

(Chorus)
The Monsters have come,
Let us see what they've done for men.
Their features distort what we see,
we cannot defend.
The monsters come running,
they see what we'll do for them.
The creatures whose hate breeds filth,
let us see the end.

(Verse2)
Driving the blows, pain we will feel.
Arresting our souls, it's part of the deal.
Amusing desires the monsters will stay,
They bring you their faith, you CANNOT GET AWAY!

Thriving, controlling, driving, amusing,
traits of the monster whose lust we are fueling,
Confusing, abusing, arresting, and using,
pitiful fools, we are definitely losing.

(Verse 3)
Igniting the way so the path will be clear.
Insinuating failures, no one will hear.
Uniting the masses, no one's the same.
Preparing your future THEY CALL YOU BY NAME!

jman,

Good to hear another view on organized religion, if that's what it is. If not, clue me in. The only thing I might comment on is the chorus. For me it sounds a bit more like a verse.
Thriving, controlling, driving, amusing,
traits of the monster whose lust we are fueling,
Confusing, abusing, arresting, and using,
pitiful fools, we are definitely losing.

I really liked this part and thought this would make a great chorus. Great writing on an interesting topic. G. :)

Personally, I think the writer has overdosed on Dr Who.

I say and write what I'm thinking, then wish I hadnt.
My only redeeming feature is that I'm honest.

Thanks for the input. I agree about the chorus. This song could be considered to be about religion, but the idea was mainly to express how expectations and the projection of standards makes me feel.

A question for the other guy, Who exactly is Dr. Who?

Dr Who is a Sci-fi character on British television.

Aha!
That would be why I have never heard of it. I don't really watch much British television here in Kansas! :D Maybe I should check it out. Thanks for posting that link.
