Other Girls
She's hanging out the window, she's got no clothes
She's hanging on a boulevard, she's got nowhere to go.
Chorus
If I drink enough you're mine
(at this point I just play the chord progression for the chorus w/out lyrics
She goes to work at 9pm, she's always naked
Toss one back another time, she blows my mind
Full Chorus
If I drink enough you're mine
There were other girls
If I drink enough you're mine
There were other girls, but there's no other girl
She lays down to sleep a while, she's got no clothes
I watch her lights go out, I've go nowhere to go
Repeat Full Chorus and then the last verse
This song started as a quiet acoustic song, but after being introduced to the rest of my band it took on a life of its own. There ended up being a lot space in the song where there was no singing where we could build dynamics. I'm pretty happy with the music but was wondering what you guys thought of the lyrics. Cheers!
Hi'a Gene,
I'm no expert, but you are welcome to my 10c worth.
I actually read it as a bluesy type song cos' of the repetition, dunno what type of music your band plays.
I must admit I find the lyrics a bit confusing ( must be my age ) but I'm not sure how someone hangs on a boulevard , we don't have them here, a street right ???
Also you change from third person to first,
she and then your
How about:
She hangs out the window, she's got no clothes
She walks the boulevard, got nowhere to go.
Chorus
If I drink enough she's mine
(at this point I just play the chord progression for the chorus w/out lyrics
She goes to work at 9pm, she's always naked
I toss another one back , she blows my mind
Full Chorus
If I drink enough she's mine
There were other girls
But If I drink enough she's mine
There were others , but there's no other girl like mine
She lays down to sleep a while, she's got no clothes
I watch her lights go out, now I've go nowhere to go
Repeat Full Chorus and then the last verse
Well that is my thoughts.
go well
