This one was weird, kinda came to me in one huge train of thought straight after reading the assignment....

Ride The Sun

Wipes the dust from his boots
And steps into the blazing sun
Mirrors of the smoky air
Glow where yesterday begun
Said he'd be back home when dawn hits the sky
As he rode across the sand into the waking night

Its the old days,
The new ways
To make this life our own
Its the long way
The hard days
As we fight our way back home

Stops by the moonlit Inn
And takes a seat where he falls
Next to a familar demon
Knowing all but what he's called
Said he'd be back there next time his battles won
As he rode across the night ino the waking sun

Its the old days,
The new ways
To make this life our own
Its the long way
The hard days
As we fight our way back home

So softly speak of tomorrow
The pages of the past
Gave into the sorrow
The mercy of the stars
Said the sun would fall from the sky
Said we'd never turn away
Said we would ride into the night
Said we'd never have all this to say

Its the old days,
The new ways
To make this life our own
Its the long way
The hard days
As we fight our way back home

hey

love the title. there are some great images and lines in it, like:
Next to a familar demon =>clever
Said he'd be back there next time his battles won
As he rode across the night ino the waking sun
Said the sun would fall from the sky

I like this.
good job:)

This reminds me of Bluenightangels song a little....though they're dissimilar as songs, they're both nicely understated and subtle, with lovely use of imagery.....

Great chorus....fleshes out the imagery of the verses nicely, while contrasting with the style of same.....

Good stuff!

:D :D :D

LostBeggining,

Good Song.
As he rode across the sand into the waking night

I've never thought of the night as "waking" before.
That creates a really great image.
