Chorus
Yeah I'm Canadian
Part of this great Federation
They tell us how great this country is
So we won't mind the taxation

Ah I am a Canuck
So I can drink
Yeah I can smoke pot
That's freedom I think

No I can't smoke cigarettes
Except in my garage
Yeah smoking cigarettes in this city
Makes me a criminal at large

If I'm hooked on drugs
Yeah I can get methadone free
If I'm hooked on cigarettes eh
I'll be in court with a guilty plea

Oh I can get married for about thirty bucks
When this wonderful marriage begins to fail
Our trusted judges and lawyers will see to it
A twenty thousand dollar invoice will be in the mail

Oh ya I can't drive a car
Without drivers education
Oh but I can have twelve kids
With no regulation

Yeah I can go to the doctor
When I don't feel well
I can get a prescription
I can't afford it, but what the hell

No we can't afford a military
We pretend there is no poverty
Yeah but the rich pay taxes begrudgingly
Wow what a strange absurdity

This big wonderful country
Of which I am a fan
Tries to please everyone
We really think we can

Chorus
Yeah I'm Canadian
Part of this great Federation
They tell us how great this country is
So we won't mind the taxation

hey ya.

first I thought, uh well something patriotic('I'm a canadian', 'tell us how great this country is...')...
but as I went on reading you really got me, i like it and it definitely has some great phrases in it and it rhymes well(though this isn't a must for a song)
I like these exspecially:
Yeah smoking cigarettes in this city
Makes me a criminal at large

Yeah I can go to the doctor
When I don't feel well
I can get a prescription
I can't afford it, but what the hell

No we can't afford a military
We pretend there is no poverty
Yeah but the rich pay taxes begrudgingly
Wow what a strange absurdity

Some pretty funny and savage lines - a good mix. Question, though: in this part:

Oh I can get married for about thirty bucks
When this wonderful marriage begins to fail
Our trusted judges and lawyers will see to it
A twenty thousand dollar invoice will be in the mail

Since it's a totally different meter from the rest of the stanzas, do you work it as a bridge?

I'm sure we'd all be interested in hearing this if you ever record it! Please let us know if you do.

Peace

I don't play well enough to record it myself.  Maybe I can get someone else too. Who knows.
As for that verse I agree it doesn't fit I was hoping it would work as a bridge.

This is a neat song too.  It is one of the ones you would be able to laugh and dance too with the right music.  It's pretty cute.

Hi Tattooed

This works really well I like some of the things you mention you can do contrasted with those you can't.  I can just imagine each listener nodding in agreement.

Good stuff
