Let's meet quarter to seven
Out on the rooftop
Of our favourite ruin

Remember the last time
You had just one child
And July was still mine
Yeah, it's been quite a while
Since we watched these streets from above
Where you can't defeat the thought
Of a bent and endless labyrinth
With battles you'll never win

And the view consumes you

We never make it back
Before the sun drops
Your wife will be worried
And probably calls all your friends again
“For you it's easy”, you say with a grimace,
“no one's waiting for you to come home”
I nod, but don't really know about that
Sometimes I wish someone'd fill all the empty space in my bed
Sometimes I wish someone'd fill all the empty space in my head

But at least up here
I forget about losing sleep
And your company
Has always been kindly distracting

So let's meet quarter to seven
Out on the rooftop
Of our favourite ruin

... "I forget about losing sleep" used to be "I forget about the solitude of the aimless"... just didn't seem to fit anymore
anyways...
musically it could go into the direction of the Dashboard Confessional style, if you know what i mean...
