hey.. late, i know... anyway:
erase, erase! [picture perfect]
i want a rubber to erase the tears from my face
'coz they're uncontrollable and i need a break
no, i don't crave a pokerface
but it gets laughable
when ev'ry tiny sign of disapproval
or his refusal to kiss, “just don't feel like itâ€
is an onion arrow
that calls upon the water
till i curse my wings
like a dropping sparrow
these sockets accommodate an ocean
these lids that should hide it
falter when soaked
till it leaks through
you almost always notice the waves
crushing against the shore
it either makes you nauseous
or sad like the vultures
circling above the desert
in my dreams of his poems
and i'm sick of adding more beads
to the string of disappointment
dangling around your neck
when you say it again
that i shouldn't weep so easily and must learn to accept opinions
i think of that rubber and swear bitterly tears shall have no dominion.
'his poems' and 'tears shall have no dominion' come from dylan thomas and his poem 'and death shall have no dominion'... in case anyone is interested.
