Hej  It's been a while.. as usual lyrics first (and only) for me
The photograph you can see here has been taken by Gunnar Smoliansky.
Here's what I have so far:

Picture him on a cold afternoon, or alone in his empty room

“The last boat before the ice grows
like marble petticoats or bouquets
of tiny white blossoms tossed by the wind
or some less careful hand
all over every wavelength.

It's difficult to believe now
that time will freeze as far
as Fjäderholmarna”
he whispers through the late afternoon

oh, I see it's a pocketful of wooden memories
that your hand cannot help but hold onto

Everyone turn their backs while
he suspects that the walls, when he sleeps,
bend over his bed
for each morning, dizzily yawning,
he bumps against an emptiness overhead
to sadly discover this is not the place
he dreamt he was at.

oh, I see it's a cloud falling down to cover your face,
with your sorrow stitched in a corner

But then he puts his hat back on his head and shuffles away
as if I hadn't been sitting on this bench at all.

I'm a little rusty, I believe
Cheers,
straycat.

ANNE!!!! :D :D :D :D

Hi :D

Great to see you

Ken

Can I get an "Amen" brothers and sisters?

Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen Amen AMEN!

Good to see you back, Anne!

Song fits the picture beautifully - my only misgiving is, it'll be difficult to set to music. It reads more like a poem - I know, I know, I've said that before, but normally I try and put some music to lyrics as I'm reading - finding it diffficult to this one. I'm not saying it's impossible - but it's hard to get a consistent rhythm when you've got verses of different lengths, then a couple of lines that don't fit the same meter....

The imagery's all there, as usual, and I love the new influences - like the name of the Town which I'm not even going to try to spell from memory.....

It's been quite here lately, nice to see you back again.

A little rusty? Hmm, well maybe....

Missed? Definitely!

:D :D :D

 Thank you for the kind welcome back! I missed SSG, too :D :D :D

As for the music, Vic, I know, I haven't been paying too much attention to line lengths or rhythm here... I'll try to do that next time  (and I don't have a guitar here, so I got the best excuse for not trying to set something to music these next few months  maybe I'll find one at a fleamarket though  )
By the way, Fjäderholmarna is the name of a group of islands in the Stockholm archipelago(?).. means something like "the feather islands" :D

Thank you, Ken and Vic :D
Cheers,

Hi again :D

Sorry.... didn't quite have the time to leave anything better than a greetings before :P

Okay -

Yes.... the first time thru, I found it pretty difficult to grasp.
I hadn't seen the picture though (as I only remembered the alt. tuning part of wk 45).

After I saw and studied the picture for a bit, it seemed a whole lot better.

And then! Breakthru!
I found a pulse to it, and was able to fit a melody with it....
Wonderful!

I had Boo grab the mic for me, and I put a verse down on a track just so I would remember it!
It's not a simple melody, for sure.
Lots of pauses, breaths, and stretching words.

And yeah, I love how you've quickly assimilated your new surroundings into your work :D

Kinda reinforces my notion of your amazing sensitivity

Ken

ps

oh, the word 'wavelength' at the end of the first verse....
It sorta gave me a strange modern clash to the whole rest of that verse,
like radio signals or cellphone signals bouncing off of geosync sats. in space.

Perhaps - waves' length....?

"Waves' length" looks good
As for your melody.... any possibility that I might have a listen? I'm curious :D

Cheers,
