Pretty tough assignment this week but this is
what I came up with.

Looks like the censor doesn't approve of the fourth word in the
second line.

Last Man Standing

MP3 Guitar Sample

( Driving Beat - Capo 2 Key of F#m)

Em - A - Em - A - Em - A - B7

Em --------------------- A
Goin' down to the river tonight
Em-----------------------------B7
Don't give a damn if it's wrong or right
Em----------------------------------A
Got a pistol in my pocket and a soul to sell
B7
One way or the other someone's goin' to Hell

Em-------------------------------A
Be it last man standing or the odd man out
Em------------------------------------B7
Judgment day is comin' Lord there ain't no doubt
Em-------------------------------A
I'll be seekin' restitution for an evil deed
B7
One way or the other someone's gonna bleed

Em - A - Em - A - Em - A - B7

I don't care what the Good Book said
The man deserves a bullet in the head
He took away my woman and that's a crime
One way or the other someone's doin' time

Be it last man standing or the odd man out
Judgment day is comin' Lord there ain't no doubt
I'll be seekin' restitution for an evil deed
One way or the other someone's gonna bleed

Em - A - Em - A - Em - A - B7

Going down to the river tonight
Don't give a damn if it's wrong or right
Got a pistol in my pocket and a soul to sell
One way or the other someone's goin' to Hell

Be it last man standing or the odd man out
Judgment day is comin' Lord there ain't no doubt
I'll be seekin' restitution for an evil deed
One way or the other someone's gonna bleed

Be it last man standing or the odd man out
Judgment day is coming' Lord there ain't no doubt
Got a pistol in my pocket and a soul to sell
One way or the other someone's goin' to Hell

Instrumental Verse

Em - A - Em - A - Em - A ... Fade out

John

I like this alot I think its very kool ..

I've been a quiet on the writting scene lately had a family issue and everythhing is really good now , but since then I have been concentrating on trying to play one of these marvellous decorations I have in this house alot lately as September nears I still can't play any of the songs I want to play on my birthday so instead of pushing the date back I have decided to pick one song and try to play it on my birthday :) big ask I think

John Denvers "Jet Plane " 4 weeks to go and I have to be able to play it ....

I wasn't too sure what you Meant by driving beat sooo check your PM box mate ..

Very kool song
And what the censors didn't like darn ..:):) LMAO

Trev...

Thanks Trev,

There are a couple of lines I'm not completely satisfied with
but for the most part I'm pleased with the results. Lyrically I
was trying to go for a Johnny Cash "Shot a man in Reno" type
of vibe.

I got your PM and replied with an MP3. You are very close on the strum pattern.

Good luck on "Jet Plane". You should be able to nail it in a month or less.

Hi John

This is good work- just a few lines here and there that are difficult to fit in with the rhythm I was playing to it.

Otherwise though I really like it I think it works very well for the assignment.

Good stuff

Bob
