Hi guys, I'm a newbie here :) Just joined the forums

A few questions:
- I just want to know if it's against the rules to submit a composition which suits the theme for the week BUT I've already written before the topic was even posted?
- Do we have to worry about copyright?

Anyway, here's my first contribution... I hope no one laughs ;p This is actually inspired by a classmate of mine who was ranting to a friend about his frustrations about a girl (who's my friend) whom he always liked but never had the guts to tell coz he's convinced that she's too good for him... Well, me being the girl's friend... I've got inside information :p thus the twist at the end of the song.

I know that the song isn't all about the conversation only. Rather, it's about the whole situation which the conversation was about... I hope that's okay

Wisdom of a Fool

Verse 1:
Waiting without a reason to wait, waiting until you know it's too late,
that's the wisdom of a fool.
On every corner tragedy waits, every second another heart breaks,
that's the wisdom of a fool.

Refrain 1:
No use taking it fast, I'm not in a hurry, so why don't we take it slow
Why don't I ask her if she'd like a dance, but will it be yes or will it be no?

Verse 2:
Waiting too long ‘till the night grows old, until she's gone,
that's the wisdom of a fool.
Giving up early coz I can see, I'm so damn sure she's not right for me,
that's the wisdom of a fool.

Refrain 2:
I just couldn't ask her to dance, coz she might say no.
I just couldn't push myself to take the chance, she's not for me, I know.

CHORUS:
I'm just a fool for her, but I'm waitin' in line letting other people pass me by.
As I watch from a distance I see her smile, a smile that can put the sun out of line.
I see her walking with another guy, and I think they're doing just fine.
As I sit alone and think of her, and dreaming if she'll ever be mine.

Verse 3:
Figure it out a little too late, seeing the truth just as she's leaving,
that's the wisdom of a fool.
Knowing you should've asked her to dance, but now there's no music and there's no chance
that's the wisdom of a fool.

Refrain 3:
But now she's gone, and you're crying alone, coz she's finally told you what's true
Those words just left her mouth as she left your life, she was also a fool for you.

yeah you're right. actually, the song is supposed to go that way (how you re-wrote it). i forgot to format it after typing it on MS Word :p

For Formatting sake, here it is again:

Wisdom of a Fool

Verse 1:
Waiting without a reason to wait
waiting until you know it's too late,
that's the wisdom of a fool.
On every corner tragedy waits
every second another heart breaks,
that's the wisdom of a fool.

Refrain 1:
No use taking it fast, I'm not in a hurry,
so why don't we take it slow
Why don't I ask her if she'd like a dance,
but will it be yes or will it be no?

Verse 2:
Waiting too long ‘till the night grows old,
until she's gone,
that's the wisdom of a fool.
Giving up early coz I can see,
I'm so darn sure she's not right for me,
that's the wisdom of a fool.

Refrain 2:
I just couldn't ask her to dance,
coz she might say no.
I just couldn't push myself to take the chance,
she's not for me, I know.

Verse 3:

seeing the truth just as she's leaving,
that's the wisdom of a fool.
Knowing you should've asked her to dance,
but now there's no music and there's no chance

Refrain 3:
But now she's gone, and you're crying alone,
coz she's finally told you what's true
Those words just left her mouth as she left your life,
