When you start a thread, you get the option of making it a sticky topic. It doesn't seem to be limited to forums where I moderate either.
Does this mean than Pet could make each thread starts wherever she starts it sticky, or do only we Mods get to use adhesives? I see a bad moon rising if it's the former.

I'm lost, what the heck is "sticky"? I guess I should just ask Laz when I next see him...
Um, is there a "time out" feature on this forum. I've been running back and forth to the delivery room all day, and when I come back, I have to log on again to see what's going on in the forum. It doesn't ask me to log on, it just won't show GN at all. I have to close Internet Explorer, open it again, find GN and then forums and log in again.
OK, if that's what it's supposed to do....
And as for Avatars, I liked the one I had before on the old forum, but if size matters (or costs), go with what's easy.
"Sticky" just means you can pin it to the top so it doesn't sink if it doesn't get responses.

Thank you Tim
the rest of Guitarnoise.
I see that we no longer have any link to the rest of the GN site.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

I've added the avatar hack and allowed remote avatars again. It doesn't affect people who've already added large images. But next time they update their profile they'll have to change the image size.
great

I'm glad to have my avatar back!

Btw, the signatures now seem to be gone. Is there a way to have them back too?

Not til we figure out how to limit them too. They are the biggest offender of screwing up the forum page width.
Gotcha. Makes sense. Personally, I was very happy to remove the image from my signature once my avatar returned.

Nick, did you turn off the signatures? I saw a hack for limiting sizes there too. Hopefully it's still in my history.
I did turn them off.
We had single line posts that required scrolling an entire page to get to the next post.
If you can find that hack, that would be great.
I've got the hack. Will do it tomorrow I think.
