Well, you didn't have to wait long!

YaSMnewFor

It's in EL for online credit cards.

By the bye, we have a new member (just joined late Thursday night) that goes by the clever name of "bestpharmacystore." Want to bet on where we send his posts?

Peace

He's probably a friend of Neiseanizep.

send 'em to EL so I can just click administer user and ban them. It just saves me a few steps in the process.

Ah, so that's why we send 'em to EL? Gotcha.

I think we got our first spammer trying to get in. I sent it to EL for your perusal.

I neither approved or disapproved it.

Ooops - I automatically disapproved that one, soon as I saw the subject matter. Question - do we actually NEED to send disapproved posts to EL? Won't Nick or Paul just delete the accounts? Or doesn't it work that way?

You can just disapprove them. I'll check the moderation log and see what actions have taken place. When I see one disapproved because it's spam I'll delete the account.

It's still working amazingly well. We've only had two spammers I think and we don't need to rush in and see what needs to be deleted every time we log in.

Works well for us too. Instead of having to trawl through all the forums for spam, it's there in the mod logs. Click of a mouse and pouff, it's gone! It's cutting most of the rubbish out, anyway - usually a glance at a header is enough. "Knock off handbags...." pouff, gone!

There'll still be spammers who'll figure out a way around it, eventually, but it seems to be keeping out all but the hard-core spammers.

Just disapproved 5 spam posts

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

I've moved one of his posts to EL, so that you have his IP address and disapproved the other

Sorry about that. That one got by me. Apparently I'm stethoscope illiterate (guitar or otherwise)! Thanks for catching my flub!

Those were pretty old spams, weren't they? One seemed to be from January. Are you doing some house cleaning or did they just pop up again?

By the way, is this new system just working out beautifully or what? Not only do we have very few new spammers able to log on, but the unwashed masses seem to be seeing none of it...

Been a bit overzealous with the report list, I think

This new addition is working a treat - we're getting the spammers and the newbies seem to have no problem with being scrutinised.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
