God did I have an embarrassing moment today :oops:

I tend to keep the browser open most of the day in work to guitarnoise. Well today my VP was in my office and a talking ad for smart storage bins or something like that started. Of course he heard it.

Luckily he knows I am into music and we allow "casual" use of the Internet for personal use. Still had to explain that I was reading GN when he came in when I was suppossed to be working on something he asked for.

Oh well, I have enough experience that it may not be too hard to find a new job :lol:

Maybe the site should post a warning???? May be hazardous to your career?

I not only disable sound via IE AND set the overal soundcard output to 0 AND mute everything BUT shut off the boxes too since I had a similar accident. Luckily nobody but one colleague was there... :D

Yup, I have done all the same things since.

It was a surprise to me to have sound come out for that first time in all the times I was on GN. It was just a matter of luck to have someone in my office at the time. I don't visit much else while I am at work so it was never a problem before this surprise.

I never use the speakers, in the office - I always have a pair of phones attached. However......
a couple of weeks ago, I was listening to SRV and couldn't understand why the music sounded so distant, but I was working and SRV was just background sound. It was only when a colleague started to whinge about the noise (he's NOT an SRV fan) that I realised that I'd forgotten to plug the phones in!!

I did a similar thing the other night. I went in the back room to practice (nothing on TV) and was playing away when I got a complaint that they could not hear the TV in the other room. I had the headset on but it was not pushed into the jack on the amp all the way but just enough I was getting a feed through the headphones and the speakers.

I told them I was just trying to get their feedback on a song I was practicing but they didn't believe me for some reason.

I hope you tell your supervisor about this and have the guy fired. (Just kidding on the firing part…….maybe just have him demoted :wink: ) :lol:

It's only a small company - you can't get promoted without becoming the MD and you can't be demoted without becoming the cleaner. :?

It is definatly a good try but i mean come on, it strikes me as being rather a bit sloppy and unprofessional, perhaps a few more hours working at it might help.
