Somewhere on the site I saw that you wanted marketing-type suggestions.  This may be more trouble than it's worth, unless you contract it out, given that you are all volunteers working from various parts of the globe, but have you ever thought of selling t-shirts, hats, mouse pads, etc., with the guitar noise graphic and web site address. I think the graphic is pretty cool, and it seems like you could make a profit off of them, although, since I know nothing about that business, I don't know.  I just know I like to get unusual t-shirts that other people aren't likely to have, and if I can advertise something I think is a great product at the same time, all the better!  I'm sorry if this is too off the wall or if it has been suggested before, but I thought I'd mention it.

We'll need a clever graphic/slogan combination.

GuitarNoise  The world's largest guitar school

Guitarnoise - Get online. Play guitar.

Guitarnoise - Hey we're guitarists, you expect a clever slogan?

Well, if "you can write lyrics", then surely "you can write a slogan."   ;)  Actually, I had just assumed it would say the online guitar college like it does already, but this bunch could come up with something else, I'm sure.

Hey Beth!

I think the original post was for "new marketing ideas, and people to make them happen..." ;D

Given that the main operators of the site literally cover the 4 corners of the world, coordinating tasks in the real world is very difficult.

And no, the Songwriters should NOT write the slogan :-X

... not me either.

Hi Beth,

This is a great idea.  We have been thinking of opening a Guitar Noise store in the new year.  Hats and T-shirts are a definite possibility.

I'm hoping to get some help from designers to make some really snazzy items.  After all, quality is the most important thing we strive for here.  We don't want to put the GN name on just anything.

Ans a nice, new, cool slogan would help a lot.

Paul

I'm out of town for Thanksgiving and this is the first time in a few days I've been able to check out GN.  I'll see if a cool slogan pops into my head, but that type of thing is not one of my talents  :D.  Anyway, make those t-shirts and I'll be  in line for one!!

I'd be looking great in one like these even on stage. Original site wear.

What do you think ?

If it's not prohibitively expensive, front and back would be nice.  Perhaps a small upper left corner logo and something bigger on the back?  The branding is pretty clear on both, though No2 could be a bit bigger.

Pricing and color schemes are two other considerations, I hate white tees.  :)

LOL all I did was take a black image of a teeshirt and painted it white with paint shop pro 7 and cut ,coped and pasted the logo from the site onto the shirts and merged them,  it was just for fun.

LOL. It makes a good concept piece though. The image sparked several thoughts about what I would like to see.  I think it's time to do some preliminary research on cost.

The shirt designs look not bad.  Definitely something to start working with.  A while ago David and I were talking about making something along the lines of a golf shirt.  I think you could expect to pay something in the $15 - $20 range for a GN shirt.  A little expensive I know.

Perhaps a GN reader knows where we can get a better deal.

What was the thinking behind the golf shirt? Does it really need to be that fancy, especially as many of the members seem to be university age or younger?
And did you check both Canadian and American prices?

I actually like the idea of a golf shirt, and a normal T shirt. Design number 2, enlarged, even if it was just playing around forrok, would look pretty cool. Or, design 1 on the front, in the right hand corner, and design 2 on the back. Anyways, i think this is a great idea.
