I'm investing in a cheap acoustic bass and would like to get everyone's opinion on which one to buy.
The first is a Dean Playmate for $149.95 at American Musical which can be seen here http://www.americanmusical.com/item--i-DEE-EAB.html

And the other is a Carlo Robelli for $179.99 at Samash http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?ItemID=31777&TempID=1&STRID=131613&Method=3&CategoryID=183&BrandID=0&PriceRangeID=0&PageNum=0&DepartmentID=2&pagesize=10&SortMethod=3&SearchPhrase=&Contains=&Search_Type=SEARCH&GroupCode=nonetodaythanks
I'm having to order one so I can make payments and on it and I want something cheap b/c I'm keeping it at the dorm. So which would you guys suggest? Thanks for the help everyone. ;)

Wow, both of them have some pretty good reviews. Can't decide except by price.

Tough decision - anyone else?

You should play both of them at a music store and see which one you like better. Don't buy sight-unseen.

I noticed that Takamine has an acoustic bass out now. Don't know the price, but the one I saw looked pretty sweet. Might be worth checking out.

Check out the Michael Kelley. If it's properly set up, it will be the best. It's a little more (about $500) but, frankly, it is the only acoustic bass to buy under $1000
