Make sure you know all your notes first so you can change octaves at will. Also start running scales for dexterity and strength. Begin with C since it has no flats or sharps and download the circle of fifths so you will learn your key signatures. You can do all of this in a few weeks and reap the fortunes of moving to the next level!

"another one bites the dust" might be good, the whole song is relatively easy to learn.
and "Brick house" by the Commodores is fun to play.
I pity the fool, but also suggest ways he might better himself.
Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" is a very simple bass line - it's mostly an open E string!
