my friend is begging me to post something on here to ask how to play slap bass and the best wat to do it. he tryed playing slap bass and he is decent but i wont say hes good at it yet. he plays the standard bass playing way with your four fingers......etc... but anyways can anyone help out with some tips.
p.s he wants to play like les claypool or victor wooten, thats funny lol!
I've tried to do this a few times on my own with poor results. I've read several online descriptions, and those just don't work for me in this instance. I have to admit that I'd really like someone to show me. I recommend one or two lessons targeted to this technique.
You'd have better luck watching some youtube videos or hitting a site that is more focused on bass.
I can get the slap part down at a slow speed, but it's the pop (where you slap w/ the thumb and then pull out and pop a higher string w/ you finger) that I just can't get.
