Are Folk or OM sized guitars versatile?

Played a Seagull folk today. My untrained ear loved the sound.

Is it actually OK to have as my only guitar, because I love and play all styles of music? Do these size guitars simply lack the volume of a dread?

Thanks,

Scott

I know I have my Seagull Artist Folk in the swap meet section, but I do love the sound.

They are perhaps more versatile than a dread. They still have a pretty decent bass response, but because they have a smaller size, they move less air. On the other hand, I've never had anyone complain they can't hear me.

I think you could use the Seagull folk as your only guitar and be perfectly happy. I agree with Nick, it may even be more versatile than the dread. It's great for finger picking, and sounds decent for strumming also.
