Buying new guitar, need advice.

I need advice on what guitar to buy. Im a beginner and ive been playing for a few months but want to buy a new guitar, nothing too flashy or expensive as it would be wasted on me i'm such a novice! I have narrowed it to two but cannot decided the one I want, a BC Rich SOB avenge or a basic SOB bronze series. I prefer the look of the Avenge but is the single humbucker pickup at the bridge too much of a sacrifice for style and would it be rubbish?
