Hey what up.
I'am a new guitarist who's wondering how to tune to drop d and c.
I sarted out playing a $5 dollar acoustic that my parents got me at a garage sale, and i just recently drop a grand on a Gibson SG faded Special, with a vox ad30vt amp, and some other stuff. I love it but the strings sometime buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz anyhelp on that.
OH why cant i put the smily faces in my text.

PEACE

Welcome to the Musical Madhouse!

Have you checked David's articles On the Tuning Awry and Open Tuning Part I? In the second one he gets into Open C. He gives tips about the tuning process in the second one too.

Myself, I use an electronic chromatic tuner which simplifies the whole process.

Yeah. NEVER buy a guitar tuner. They only have EADGB on them and make alternate tuning a chore. Chromatic tuners cost little more and are way more versatile. As for the buzzy, floppy low string, the only cure is to use a heavier one.
