finger picking

hi this is probably a very silly question but although i have been learning very slowly (2 1/2 years) to play the guitar, and
i can play a fair few chords and a couple of songs using tabs i have never manage to figure out how to play
just by finger picking. could some one please point me in the right direction.

I'm a slow learner... at least when it comes to guitar, and I've pretty much got that lesson down after a few weeks.

Once you've assigned each finger its string/s the battle is half over. The second half can last a lifetime though :wink:

Especially if you consider playing like Jerry Reed or Chet Atkins... :shock: .
