I'm trying to find a good instructor in/or around the Dallas, TX area. Is there a directory on-line or anything like that? I've checked some of the local rags and made a few phone calls, but I don't like what I'm hearing about the lesson plan (i.e. no music theory and no structure). I took lessons a few years ago and was really turned off by the instructor as all he wanted to do was show me how well he could play. :(
Anyways, if anyone has a link to a directory or could recommend a good instructor for a beginner in the Dallas area, I would appreciate it.

I don't know how many people might be listed in your area, but you might want to give this site a try:
You plug in your zip code and requirements and they give you a list of instructors within so many miles. The catch is that they have to be registered with the service and not everyone is and not everyone stays updated (I think they still list me in Chicago! :wink: ). But it might be worth a try...
