Quick question and I just need some quick advice...

Usually when playing, an individual string the palm of my hands will usually rest on the other strings sometimes, of course muting out the sound. Is there a specific way im supposed to have my arm when hitting a single string?

If you need to rest your hand while picking, it would be better to rest the palm lightly against the body of the guitar by the bridge. Otherwise, work at letting your hand float above the strings.

After you've been playing for awhile you'll find the place that works best for you. Muting is a very important technique to master. Right along with finding the right place for hand placement.

I found the right place ... And then started playing more distortion, and need to learn to mute.

So, I am struggling again :-(
