This is the second guitar that I have owned that did this. Is this normal, or should I return it?

Thank you

There's probably a plate on the back. Take it off and check inside.

Does it just rattle when you play or does it just rattle when you shake it?

Chuck Norris invented Kentucky Fried Chicken's famous secret recipe, with eleven herbs and spices. But nobody ever mentions the twelfth ingredient: Fear!

Could be the U2 virus.

Does it rattle and hum?

There are many possible causes of a small rattle, and the only way to be sure is to have a look, as Denny says. If you don't feel confident about doing it yourself, then taking it back to the shop and asking their opinion seems reasonable.

It's probably something quite simple, but if you're feeling unlucky, or clumsy, then dismantling things you don't know anything about always carries some element of risk. :?

I've always enjoyed a bit of experimental dismantling, but then I've made a fair few things worse in my time before they were eventually fixed, so it does have its perils...

Good luck.

Chris
