Well, ive been trying to electronically tune my guitar but I still have a couple questions if anyone knows. Am I suppose to just "pick" a string just once, then tune it in? or just keep "picking" it and tuning it till the needle on the tuner is in the middle and the green light stays on? cause sometimes the needle bounces to the red light and back to the green one ( in the middle). Both red lights on each side of the green light.

Anyone know what im talking about

and like i had mentioned, do i just pick the string once or keep picking it? Im using the Korg GA tuner.

Thanks again all

Just pick it once. Start out flat and tune up to pitch.

hi slodogg....

firstly to check your tuner is set correctly 440 hz go to this site and see what your tuner does as each note is played....if the needle doesn't go to centre then you'll have to reset it.....if it does your on the money.....so watch and listen...then copy it on your guitar

hope it helps

the tuner reads the note from the attack (first pick) to the decay (where the sound fades).
so pick once. read. then pick again.
stop all vibrations of that one string and the surrounding strings.
have the volume knob turned all the way up too.

Can't stress this one enough. If you aren't getting a good strong signal to the tuner, it'll waver hugely.

Also, don't pluck the string too hard or be putting any tension on the neck. All that will affect the accuracy of your tuning no matter how good the tuner.
