staccatto ?

What does staccatto mean ? I'm guessing it's some kind of way of playing or something like that. Could some kind person tell me how to play something staccatto

be good at what you can do-

It means the sounds aren't connected. If you just alternate pick the E string and let it ring, that's legato (connected); if you play the same thing at the same tempo, but you mute after every stroke, that's staccato.

Staccato is shown in music by dots above or below the notes.

Just to expand a bit on NoteBoat's comment

It is really easy to use staccato when playing with bar chords to change the sound up a bit. Just after striking the chord release the tension of your fretting hand to cut the sound short.

Try something this out to get the feel of it:

Barre a G chord and play an D_DU_UD_ pattern, then slide up to an A and play a D_D_D___ pattern, using staccato for each of the downstrokes on the A chord, then back to the G chord.
