I had a look at the chords for American Pie and one of them is G-B
Can someone tell me the fingering for that?
Your help appreciated as always

They probably mean "G/B," which is a G chord, but you want to highlight the B note in the bass. Probably part of a walking bass line going from C to Am or vice versa. It will be like this: X20003 or X20033, depending on how you play your regular G chord.
For more info on this sort of thing, look at the recent Guitar Noise lessons (access via the home page) of walking bass lines called "Connecting the Dots."
