Hi everyone
Promised I'd post another. This one is a halfway house for Wes & Vic our classic rockers and for Twisted Fingers our country contributor. I like both types of music. This is a beautiful song from the Eagles `On the Border' album. Could have been classed as New Country I suppose but its a great one for us acoustic players.
C C Dm Dm
[intro]
C-------------C-----------------Dm-------------------Dm---------
Every night, I'm lying in bed, holding you close in my dreams
C----------------C-----------------------------Dm----------Dm---------
Thinking about all the things that we said, and coming apart at the seams
Em----------------Dm-----------Em---------------F/G-------
We try to talk it over, but the words come out too rough
C-------------------------Dm-------------------C-----G7----
I know you were trying to give me the best of your love
C----------------C--------------------------Dm--------------Dm----------
Beautiful faces, and loud empty places, look at the way that we live
C------------------C--------------------------Dm----------------Dm-
Wasting our time on cheap talk and wine, left us so little to give
Em --------------------Dm--------------------Em------------------F/G--------
That same old crowd was like a cold dark cloud that we could never rise above
C-----------------------Dm-------------------C-----G7--
But here in my heart, I give you the best of my love
--------C----------C-----Dm------------------Dm-------------
Oh-oh-oh ohhhh, sweet darlin', you get the best of my love
---------C---------C------Dm-------------------Dm-------------
Oh-oh-oh ohhhh, sweet darlin', you get the best of my love
Fm7---------Fm7---------------C------------C---
I'm going back in time and it's a sweet dream
--------Fm7-----------------Fm7--------------------Dm---------G7------
It was a quiet night and I would be all right if I could go on sleeping
----C----------------C----------------Dm--------------------Dm-----------
But every morning I wake up and worry, what's gonna happen today?
C----------------------C--------------------Dm----------------Dm-----------
You see it your way, and I see it mine, but we both see it slipping away
Em--------------------------Dm---------Em------------------Dm---G7------
You know we always had each other baby, I guess that wasn't enough; o-o-ohh
----C-------------------Dm------------------C------G---
But here in my heart, I give you the best of my love
--------C----------C------Dm------------------Dm--------------
Oh-oh-oh ohhhh, sweet darlin', you get the best of my love
--------C----------C------Dm------------------Dm--------------
Oh-oh-oh ohhhh, sweet darlin', you get the best of my love
[repeat & fade]
Enjoy!
P.S.
Vic & Wes please can you advise the best intro CD to buy of CCR as I feel the need to hear more of them. Even though I'm old enough to know better, I missed out on thier classic period.
The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
Sorry everyone,
I've just veiwed it and the chords have moved away from the lyrics again.
Hope there are enough of you out there who can sort it out in your heads. I hate WORD!!!!
Apologies
chris

Great song Chris
I have the same trouble with spacing. That's why I put dashes between everything. Vic needs to tell us again how he writes his tab, his come out great.
I would just look for a Greatest Hits for CCR. I have one single cassette tape, I believe it's called Greatest Hits, it's got a lot of good songs on it.
More Eagles!

You can't go wrong with Chronicle Vol. 1
And great job with the song, dogsbody!
Blame it on the lies that killed us, blame it on the truth that ran us down.
Think we have the same CD slydog - this is the one that follows me around like a faithful puppy........from stereo to CD player to computer......
If you are more into the "country" side of CCR, you'd love "Blue Ridge Rangers" - an album J. Fogerty did of old C&W classics - Hank, Merle etc....and played every instrument on.........I had it on cassette once but it got lost when moving ....25 years ago - didn't realise just how good it was at the time!!!
As regards posting tabs.....
Write them out on word using "Courier New", font size 10.....when you enter it to ESD,simply click on "code", copy and paste your tab, click on code again.......you may still have to edit but not nearly as much.........
OH and by the way -good song, well worked out!!!

Vic
What do you mean enter it to ESD? What is that? Is that something you do while you are still in Word?
Sorry to sound like a dummy, but I'm still not quite following you.

Hi again,
Wes, Vic & Slydog. Thanks for CCR pointers and the continuing help on posting chords, tabs etc. Originally posted `Best Of My Love' because its nice and slow to give us learners time to find and change chords.
I've sent another Eagles number in response to Wes's request. Hope it comes out better. But its faster!
Thanks again
Chris

I finally managed to get back to this and re-edited it to space the chords out. its not come out perfect but at least it will give the beginners out there more of a chance of playing this great song.
Hope it helps

Vic told me how to get the proper spacing. You won't even need the dashes. Just write your tab in Word and copy it. When you come here, hit "Code" above first. Then paste it in. It will come out almost perfect.
You still have to check it. It might be off in one or two places, but the spacing will come out right.
Thanks for the great song.
