And I wonder if anyone remembers Stan Freberg's brilliant parody version (Too loud man etc. etc.)
I would love to find the little black and white cartoon film that came with that. :)

enjoy,

Rod.

Be excellent to each other & party on dudes!

LOL - Yeah I remember this from donkeys's years ago (come to think of it, wasn't "Little Donkey" one of his?

This is a song that's very much an in-joke between me and my daughter....we sing day-oh every time we go near the shed - going in the shed is a different matter entirely....they say there are no poisonous spiders in Britain, size of these buggers, they don't need to be poisonous - and any one of them has more arms than me and Kayleigh put together....

My favourite spider song has to be Entwhistle's "Boris" though - "Never more will he crawl round, he's embedded in the ground...." now that's how I like my spiders!!!!!

There's always a place for novelty songs - at Halloween, step-daughter's fancy dress party - I went as Herman Munster/ Frankenstein, when you're 6'5 options are kind of limited - I did "Monster Mash" (Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Cryptkickers, for all you trivia faans!!!) and it went down great - by the second chorus, the kids were all joining in....not exactly rock'n'roll, but a lot of fun....

So we've got "Octopus's Garden" "The Banana Boat Song" and "Smelly cat" (yes, the song Phoebe did in "Cheers", so my daughter informs me.....room for a few more yet.....

:D :D :D

Makes me want to order a tropical drink and play guitar!!!

This is one of 20 songs on my "Island Fever" disc I made many years ago... but I never thought of playing it on guitar until now.

Thanks!

Yeah good one Rodders,

It doesn't come on the radio much these days but when it does you can visualise that rabbit with extra sensative ears and that extra loud mouse in the recording studio doing the song. I think the mouse was based Speedygonzales and the rabbit based on Bugs Bunny.

I love the bit at the end where rabbit has had enough, sends the mouse out of the room who locks himself out. Then you hear running footsteps, breaking glass and the immortal line "I come through the window" from that loud mouse and then the rabbit's closing line "crazy man".

I suppose you had to be there eh Rod. Only us 40-50 plus GN members would have seen it when the animated puppets Freberg version was on TV.

There must be a DVD of it somewhere though.

LOL Chris

The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
