Well here it is my firt attempt at a tab...Just for you real newbies like myself..

Chorus
(A)Mull of Kintyre,
Oh(D)mist rolling in from the(A)sea
My des(A)ire is(D) always to be here
Oh(E) Mull of Kin(A)tyre

(A)Far have I travelled and much have I seen
(D)Dark distant mountains with(A)valleys of green
(A)past painted desert's the sunset's on fire
As he(D)carries me home to,(E) the Mull of(A) Kintyre

Chorus

(A)Sweep through the heather like deer in the glen
(D)Oh carry me back to the(A)daysI knew when
(A)Nights when we sang like a heavenly choir
Of the(D) life and the times of(E) the Mull of(A) Kintyre

Chorus

(A)Smiles in the sunshine and tears in the rain
(D)Still take me back where my memories remain
(A)Flickering embers grow higher and higher
As they(D)carry me back to the(E) Mull of Kintyre

The song is in 3/4 so suggested strum - Beat one Down and up on beats two and three.

Any criticism greatfuult accepted..

Hey - yet another Brit - welcome Stan!!!

Nice job....I haven't heard this for ages, I think there's a couple of key changes in there somewhere, but they may be just for the bagpipe solos...
it think it reverts back to the original key for the verses...and I think McCartney actually plucks the root note of the chord, then DUD....try it anyway, see what you think....

Keep 'em coming....

:D :D :D

Yeah I would agree about picking the root then playing DUD.

For new players, you can either do that (so on the A play the open A string as your root, then strum down up down) OR you can simply strum the first beat hard and then just lightly strum the rest of the chord.

Anything to give it a bit of ooomph on the first beat and it will be fine.
