I tend to use google rather than webcrawler, although if I'm having a problem finding a particular tab, I will try tabcrawler.
In my experience, though, if I'm having so much hassle finding a tab for a particular song, it's a pretty "exotic" piece, that most sites won't have because it's, presumably, not popular enough. If I use tabcrawler, I get maybe 50 sites listed and every single one has the same (and generally incorrect) tab.
I usually start with powertabs (and the linked sites on the powertab page), then mysongbook, then mike's site, then google.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
