Hello guys

Being an ardent Uriah Heep fan, this time I chose to post the mega-classic “Easy Livin”, taken from the “Demons and Wizard” 1971 masterpiece album. For those who love Heep please check the already posted “Sunrise”, “Blind Eye” “Rain” and “Tales” taken from the “magician's birthday” 1972 album and “Stealin” from the 1973 “Sweet freedom” one.
Ok first of all a disclaimer: I took the basic chords from the following site: http://home.online.no/~prannug/heep/heeptabs.htm

which has several excellente Heep chord-sheets.

Chords:

The first thing to notice that in this version for classic and acoustic guitar, I play full chords instead of the power chords used by Uriah Heep in original recording: don't worry the song is still perfectably recognizable! The verse is made of just three chords Dm, F, G,, while the bridge adds just an Am and a Bm. There are several ways to play the latter one, if you can not handle the barre, just play like it this

e = 2
B = 3
G = 4
D = x
A = x
E = x

For the F instead of the barre you can play it like this
e = x
B = 1
G = 2
D = 3
A = x
E = x

I tend to use barre chords on the sixth string for F, G (3rd fret), Bm (7h fret) and Am (5th fret) but of course you can play all with open chords.

Chord changes: every single measure except where indicated.

Time signature and suggested strummin pattern:The song is 4/4, also quite fast (140-150 bpm), could be played with a simple Du/Du/Du/Du pattern but what is important to notice is that the eights are played with triplets feel. To put it clearer you should play it like it was a very fast blues.

Small trick:
To obtain the required delay, after playing the downstrum, play a small circle with your right hand under the strings (of course withouth hitting them) and then play the upstrum

Ok let me know if you find some mistake

Matteo

Wow, it's been a while since I heard this one! Great tune, though-definitely going on the "learn it" list.
