Tremolo and Preamp pedal?

There's a EA Tremolo pedal idea out there that the tremolo sound of the pedal can be switched off and only the preamp is used. Has anybody had an experience with such a device?

It is said that the preamp has beautiful tone, but using this pedal raises a question about where it goes in the chain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the preamp generally will go before the effects chain, and tremolo goes somewhere back in with delay and chorus. Any suggestions on where to put such a pedal?
